Most new talent start in the industry with something like a simple POV (point of view) shoot.  These shoots are easy and should take about an hour in total to shoot that is including paperwork.  POV can be anything from a simple BJ as seen here on MYPOVBJ.COM or can be a hardcore boy/girl scene where the camera man is the male talent.

Pricing for these types of shoot can start at $100 and up, depending on what you are hired for, if its a simple POV BJ and the shooting takes 40mins to do still pictures and video then your pay rate can be $100.  If you are shooting a boy/girl depending on the company or producer the price can be $300 to $500 but should not take more then 2 hours tops to shoot.

As new talent you should learn some of the lingo used in the industry.  Examples are:

• B/G = boy/girl
• BJ = blow job
• ATM = ass to mouth
• DP = double penatration
• G/G = girl/girl

The list can go on but those are some of the most common ones used.  As I always say do your research on anyone you will be working with, ask for websites, what other talent they have worked with and as I always say if it sounds too good to be true it most likely is.

Remember this is a job, it can be fun but in the end you are in it to make money.  Companies are feeling the economy pain like everyone else so do not be too fast to blow off a job because the money is not what you thought, that company might give you more work in the long run then finding that one big paying job that will only use you once.

Seems that the economy is no stranger to the adult business, if anything it has hit the industry hard.  I been getting emails left and right from talent asking why companies have lower the prices for scenes now, well its that great saying shit rolls down hill.

If website sales have gone down this means companies do not have the cash flow to pay out the cash they use to offer.  This does not mean companies are trying to be cheap but if they are not making sales they are not going to have the cash flow to update as often as they did before.

I see it way to often in emails where talent thinks they are being screwed money wise because maybe a year ago they where making ABC for money but now they only can make XYZ.  This is not the case, hard times means everyone must tighten their belts.  Do not take it personal if a company is not offering the same money they did before or even rejects you because they already have content with you.  If anything we must all ride the wave together an hope that things will pick up for everyone. 

All I have to say is what any producer or company can offer you now you might have to bite the bullet and take if you want to be there when things get good again.  Now I am not saying lower your standards but take into consideration that these are hard times for everyone and not that producers or companies are trying to be cheap they have to manage the money to keep afloat.

When it comes to having your own website many guys and girls do not understand its not as easy as it seems.  You can have the most beautiful site on the net but if it does not get traffic it does not make money.

Also when doing your own website remember who is buying your domain, paying the cost for server and doing the design. I hear it too many times that girls feel like they got screwed because they part ways with their webmaster and own NOTHING.  If your serious about doing a website then I suggest you save money to fund it, just because you are the product does not mean you have ownership.

The best way not to feel like you been screwed is one own your own domain, two pay the costs for running the site and in the end you will have no issues.

Webmasters seem to always get a bad rap when they part ways with any model, funny how this same model could be with this person for years but in the end are always bad mouthed.  Too many times I see it models boo hoo about how they where treated, or how unfair it is that they do not get the website rights.  Sorry to inform you if the webmaster spent his money to create the website, make sure it was up and updated and they bought the domain then you do not have rights to it.

Now if you as a model think it makes you look better to bad mouth let me give you some advice.  In this business so many people will agree that models come and go but webmasters are in it for the long run.  Yes you will get people agreeing that you got screwed because they are fans or other models but maybe place yourself in the webmaster shoes for once.  Lets say you paid for the domain and server and the webmaster all he did was design and place updates and did the marketing.  Do you think it would be fair for the webmaster to bad mouth you and say they have rights to the site that they did not spend a dime on?

So my best advice to any model or webmaster, if you buy the domain and spend the cash you have every right to the website.  If all you do is supply updates and collect money from the site and decide to leave you are leaving with what you came with YOURSELF.

Do not get me wrong, some people do get screwed but I find it so unfair to the great webmasters out there that are always getting a bad rap because a model feels they deserve more when they did not contribute one dime to the cause.  Best thing to do if you find yourself in this situation is do not go on Myspace, Twitter or whatever god forsaken site to let the world know your business.  If you need advice contact another webmaster in confidence to see what your options are, most webmasters will tell you what you can and can not do since they deal with this on a daily basis.  But I beg you do not make blogs bad mouthing your webmaster you parted ways, because this will only hurt you in the long run.  Most webmasters take this as a red flag that if you do this to one person you will do it to them and you might not get anyone else to help you in the future.

Final thought, act professional and you will be treated that way.  If you act like a child having a fit you will get some attention but in the end you will be left alone to figure it out.
